Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke, his Fed colleagues, academics, economists and international central bank officials are gathering in Jackson Hole, Wyo., to examine financial crises past and present. The Fed's role in the current housing debacle and its handling of credit are expected to be debated. The conference lasts three days. The main attraction -- a speech by Bernanke on financial stability -- comes Friday morning, followed by a raft of academic papers and discussions.
