Jane K. Forehand of Durham has been hired as manager of training and development in the association services department of the N.C. Association of Electric Cooperatives, a trade association that serves the state's 26 electric cooperatives.

Adrian Brown has been hired as senior account executive at Bold Interactive, an Internet marketing firm in downtown Durham.

James Y. Kerr II has joined the McGuireWoods law firm as a partner. Kerr, 44, will work from the firm's Raleigh and Washington, D.C., offices and will lead the firm's new energy policy practice. Kerr is a member of the N.C. Utilities Commission and immediate past president of the National Association of Regulatory Utility Commissioners. Kerr lives in Raleigh.

Gary E. Ban, managing partner and owner of Jag Interactive in Durham and a partner with High Rock Partners, has been named 2008-09 chairman of the board of directors of the Tammy Lynn Center for Developmental Disabilities in Raleigh.

Van Isley, president of Professional Builders Supply in Morrisville, has been named to the board of directors of the Southern Building Material Association.

Encaff Products in Durham, parent company of Buzzed Breakfast Bars, Buzz Donuts and Buzzed Bagels, has three new board members. They are: Bill Bartmann, who was ranked the 25th-richest man in America by Forbes magazine; Ronald T. Self, who has extensive experience in the consumer packaged-goods industry with three corporations; and John Signorino, former president and chief executive officer of Chicken of the Sea International.

John McAdams, founder and president of The John R. McAdams Co., a land development design and consulting firm in Research Triangle Park, was named to the board of directors of the American Council of Engineering Companies of North Carolina. McAdams will serve a two-year term.

The Council for Entrepreneurial Development's 2008-09 executive committee officers are: Stephen Wiehe, chairman; Kent Christison, secretary; Greg Anglum, treasurer; Michael Elliot, chairman-elect. New officers are: Mary Musacchia, Susan Acker-Walsh, Jason Caplain, John Fogg, Richard Harris, Chris Kroeger, Steve Nelson and Anastasia Pucci.

The Raleigh Public Relations Society announced its 2008-09 board of directors and officers. Joe Mecca of Coastal Federal Credit Union is president. Katy Hipp of Girl Scouts-N.C. Coastal Pines, is vice president. Stephanie Llorente of Butterball Turkey is treasurer. Andrea Pacheco of Campbell University School of Pharmacy is secretary-historian. Frank Williams of Pioneer Strategies is immediate past president. Kelly Hubbard of Largemouth Communications is hospitality chair. Kerry G. Heckle of Rex Hospital is banquet chair. Megan Henderson of Looking Glass Communications is membership chairwoman. Claire Howell of Howard, Merrell & Partners is newsletter-public relations chairwoman. Christa Leupen of S&A Cherokee is awards chairwoman. Anna Brinkley of Rick Rountree Communications is Web chairwoman; and Tracy Phelan of The Catevo Group is a member-at-large.

The American Heart Association announced its 2008 Start! Triangle Heart Walk Executive Leadership Team. Dennis Gillings of Quintiles is chairman, and Kyle Rose of Fidelity Investments is vice chairman.

Cindy Heath, principal of Five Star Staffing & Accounting Recruiters, has been named chairwoman for the sponsorship committee for the Raleigh locations for Strike for Survival, Raleigh. Strike for Survival is a bowling event that raises money for the American Cancer Society.

Kevin Dehimer, catering manager for 1705 Catering and Events, Rocky Top Hospitality's catering company and event facility, has been named to the logistics committee for the American Heart Association's 2009 Triangle Heart Ball.

The Eastern North Carolina chapter of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society announced the committee members for its 2008 Dinner of Champions. Chris Viehbacher, president of North American Pharmaceuticals for GlaxoSmithKline in Research Triangle Park, will chair the event. Vice chairs include: Michael Brookman, Bob Bryan, Chris Cabell, John Cox, Tom Finegan, Art Foley, Herman Genderson, Randy Powell and Bill Shore.
