GREENSBORO -- Precor, a fitness equipment company, plans to build a manufacturing plant in Greensboro, investing more than $26 million and adding 142 over the next three years.
The company is based in Washington state and chose Greensboro after a national search.
Gov. Mike Easley said in a statement the state's work force would allow the internationally recognized company "to innovate and grow."
Precor manufactures cardiovascular and strength-training equipment for health clubs, hotels and universities. It has offices in Germany, the United Kingdom and other international locations.
The project is partially funded by a $140,000 grant from One North Carolina Fund, which helps attract new businesses to the state.
