Mark Sherburne, vice president of lodging operations and development for East West Partners Club Management, has been named chairman of the board for the Chapel Hill/Orange County Vistors Bureau. Sherburne replaces Lee Pavao, who led the visitors bureau's board for 12 years. Also, Greg Overbeck, a partner with Chapel Hill Restaurant Group, joined the board of directors. Dwight Basset, economic development director for Chapel Hill, and James Harris, economic development director for Carrboro, joined as ex-officio "non-voting" board members focused on economic development.
Dale Carroll, chief executive officer of AdvantageWest Economic Development Group, was named to the Kenan Fellows board of advisers for the Kenan Institute for Engineering, Technology & Science at N.C. State University.
