Warning time: More Internet work-at-home schemes are popping up to take advantage of people who are trying to earn extra money for the holidays.

The Better Business Bureau of Eastern North Carolina warns of a Raleigh company that is using Google's name to lure people. The Eco Venture Group is using several different Web sites including Google Profits Kit, MyBloggingNews.com and YourBlogProfits.com, reports the BBB.

"The Google name leads consumers to believe they are getting a job with Google that will provide huge money-making opportunities," said Beverly Baskin, head of BBB for Eastern North Carolina.

Nationally, the BBB has received more than 1,500 complaints about similar Web sites that falsely use the name of the search engine company.

Here's what happens: You go to the site and sign up for a free trial or a free CD that promises money-making information. You give a credit card number to cover shipping costs. But you never receive the CD or you card continues to be charged long after you cancel.

The Eco Venture Web site does not list a street address or phone number - which should be a red flag.
