MORRISVILLE -- Two Morrisville-based technology companies raised a total of $8 million from venture capitalists in May as they expand production capacity.
Integrian, which makes digital video equipment for surveillance, law enforcement and transit systems, attracted $4 million for a grand total of about $60 million since the company was founded in 1999. The company's payroll has increased 90 percent to about 225 employees in 18 months.
Integrian has offices in Morrisville, London and Australia.
Also raising $4 million in May was Bright View Technologies, which is developing optical films that can attach to flat-screen television screens to reduce glare and increase contrast, resolution and brightness.
CEO and founder David Reed said the money will help expand production capacity and hire new employees. The company nearly doubled its staffing to about 40 people in a year and expects to add a couple of dozen more in the next 12 months, Reed said.
He said Bright View intends to launch its first optical films next year, selling to plasma screen television manufacturers and their suppliers.
