Dara Biosciences to merge with Point Therapeutics

closeDara Biosciences, a Raleigh drug development company, will merge with Point Therapeutics, a publicly traded Massachusetts drug maker.
The deal is expected to close in the first quarter 2008 and create a Point Therapeutics subsidiary that plans to focus its research efforts to develop treatments for diabetes, neuropathic pain, dermatologic disorders and oncology.
The terms of the deal were not disclosed.
