SAN ANTONIO -- Customers of AT&T's premium television service, U-verse, were hit with outages nationwide Sunday, the latest glitch for the technology that the company was hoping would replace lost phone revenue and fend off cable-TV rivals.

The problems started early Sunday morning, and, though AT&T was able to restore some local channels and popular cable news and sports networks within a few hours, full service wasn't restored until Sunday night, AT&T spokesman Michael Coe said Monday. The company is reviewing its customer service policies after some users complained on Internet forums that they were unable to get help.

The rollout of U-Verse was plagued by delays, but AT&T now has more than 100,000 customers signed up in 33 markets.
