DURHAM -- Addrenex Pharmaceuticals, a Durham company working on a hypertension treatment, has bought the rights to screen nearly 400 chemicals in the University of Nebraska Medical Center's library for their effectiveness as medicines.
The chemicals all target sites on cells that react with hormones regulating a variety of processes, including blood pressure, mental health, pain and sleep disorders. The agreement allows Addrenex to tap into the library, a gift from Procter and Gamble. Financial details were not released.
