Amy will lead a three-part seminar:
  • Part 1: How to Save on your Grocery Bill
    Whether you are new to couponing or experienced, you'll learn the best ways to get and organize coupons and shop weekly sales.
  • Part 2: Go Advanced
    Get the latest information on the drugstore rewards programs, how to use digital coupons to your advantage and how to save money on meats and produce using rebates.
  • Part 3: Maximize your savings
    Learn to trim your weekly grocery budget even more by meal planning, batch-cooking and living a more frugal lifestyle with an emphasis on holiday savings tips. Recipes, worksheets and ideas to get you started.
Amy Dunn

Amy Dunn, a journalist for 15 years and frugal for life, is always on the hunt for a good deal. She clips coupons, shops at thrift stores and makes her own laundry detergent. She and her husband pinch their pennies in Apex, where they have lived since 1993. Amy is now blogging for The N&O as the Centsible Saver and will show you how to spend less and save more!

Check-in to receive a goodie bag and enjoy coffee and pastries before the program begins sharply at 9:00 AM. Food Bank donations will also be accepted. Sorry, tickets will not be sold at the door. Only pre-paid registered attendees will be checked in for admittance.

  1. Each attendee will receive a ticket in their goodie bag at check-in for entry into the drawings.
  2. You'll earn a 2nd ticket by making a donation to the Food Bank of Central and Eastern NC.
  3. Earn a 3rd ticket by dressing for the holidays!

We invite you to park for free in The News & Observer's employee parking deck at 214 S. Salisbury St., Raleigh, NC 27601. The entrance to the parking deck is located one block directly behind The News & Observer's main entrance, between W. Martin and W. Hargett Streets. Look for the N&O Special Event parking sign on Salisbury Street!

    • Infant Products: Diapers, Wipes, Formula, Infant Cereal
      (Please - No loose glass and plastic jars of baby food as they will have to be discarded due to health regulations)
    • Paper Products: Toilet Paper, Paper Towels, etc.

Food Bank Donations

We will be accepting canned and dried food donations for the Food Bank of Central and Eastern North Carolina. All those who donate will receive a bonus ticket for an extra entry into the drawings for door prizes at the end of the class. Only one bonus ticket per person.
