It was an arranged date through mutual friends that bought them together. He, a tall gentleman who just finished service in the U.S. Army doing secret work for the pentagon and her, a stunning blue eyed beauty and heiress to the Solomon fortune. (Which later turned out to be just a collection of toasters.) After a several month engagement they wed on May 2nd, 1964 in a secret wedding in New York.
Despite the fact that there was a fight at their wedding between family members (which he neutralized from his years of combat training) and that their friends who introduced them divorced (over a disagreement about ice cream), the marriage endured. They moved out to a compound on Long Island and started their own family. They were blessed with two children. First came their daughter, Helene who preferred to be an only child. Then their son Howard three years later, who loved comedy, cars and adventures. Over the years dad worked under the cover of darkness while mom was always there for her kids. 50 years of great memories, great laughs, and unconditional love.
