Bonnie Frye Hemphill and Aaron Samuel Paul exchanged wedding vows before family and friends on Saturday, September 3 in Eastern Promenade Park in Portland, Maine. The ceremony was performed by Aaron's godmother, Ms. Natalie Kemper. Led by a bagpiper and friends with streamers, the party paraded to Oxbow Bottling & Blending for the reception.The bride is the daughter of Todd and Nancy Hemphill of Cary, NC. She is the granddaughter of Mrs. Samuel M. Hemphill of Hickory, NC. The groom is the son of Daniel Paul and Marcia Cleveland of Alexandria, VA, and Vinalhaven, ME. The couple live in Seattle, WA. The bride, who grew up in Cary, received her BA from Middlebury College and her Masters in Environmental Management from Yale University. She works as both a residential solar designer for A&R Solar in Seattle, and as the Legislative Liaison for the Solar Installers of Washington. The groom is a native Mainer who earned his BA from Reed College, and both an MEM and MBA from Yale University. He is the Conservation Investments Project Director for The Nature Conservancy’s Washington chapter. The couple are avid adventurers, and celebrated their honeymoon hiking Scotland’s West Highland Way.
