Katherine Victoria Herron and John Joseph Griffin were blessed in marriage on October 7, 2017 at five o’clock in the afternoon at St. Paul’s Anglican Church in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico. The Right Reverend Doctor William O. Gregg, Rector, VI Bishop of Eastern Oregon, resigned and former assistant Bishop of North Carolina was the officiant.Kate is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Ronald Herron, formerly of Belfast, Northern Ireland and currently of San Miguel de Allende, and granddaughter of the late Anna Lydia Roath, John Herbert Hilary, Hugh John Herron, and Mary Elizabeth Herron.Jay is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Geoffrey Taylor Griffin of Raleigh, North Carolina, and the grandson of Noel Terry Griffin of Raleigh, Cecilia Marie Stanulonis of Gahanna, Ohio, and the late John Thomas Griffin and Joseph Frank Stanulonis. Natasha Lydia Herron, sister of the bride, was the matron of honor and William Frederick Griffin, brother of the groom, was the best man. Nieces of the bride, Elizabeth Blakely Herron and Lydia Alexandra Sarrocchi, were the flower girls, and Nicholas Sebasatian Herron, Jr, nephew of the bride, was the ring bearer. Ushers were Nicholas Sebastian Herron, brother of the bride, Gabriel Armenius Sarrocchi, nephew of the bride, Brian Thomas Edmundson and Jonathan Scott Gilliam, childhood friends of the groom. The bride’s father and the groom’s godmother, Susan McDonald, read scripture.After the ceremony, a traditional callejoneada, a walking serenade through the streets of San Miguel, led guests to the reception hosted by the bride’s parents at Casa Conway, home of a family friend. Following their honeymoon in Baja California Sur, Mexico, Jay and Kate returned to their home in Charleston, South Carolina.
