Kristen Hedderly Souza and David Lee Barham were married May 16, 2015 at six o’clock in the evening at The Umstead in Cary. The Reverend Lisa Yebuah officiated. A reception followed the ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. John Craig Souza and Mr. and Mrs. Charles Edward Browning of Raleigh. She is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Henry Wiley Sholar and the late Ms. Delia Barbour Johnson. The groom is the son of Ms. Kelli Moore Barham and Mr. Edward Lee Barham, Jr. of Raleigh. He is the grandson of Ms. Esther Moore Lutrick of Raleigh, the late Mr. Virgil “Luke” Monroe Lutrick, the late Mr. Paul Gilbert Moore, Jr., Mrs. Edna Earl Johnson Barham of Wake Forest, and the late Mr. Edward Lee Barham, Sr.
Jennifer Shimer of Raleigh, the bride’s sister, served as Matron of Honor. Kendall Southern of Raleigh served as Maid of Honor. Bridesmaids were Heidi Barham of Wilmington, sister in law of the groom; Lauren Crabtree of Greenville; Liz Davis and Abbie Lassiter both of Raleigh; Melissa Riggle of New Bern; and Erin Willis of Cumming, Georgia. Erin Hall served as junior bridesmaid.
The groom’s brother, Seth Barham of Wilmington, served as best man. Groomsmen were Jonathan Shimer of Raleigh, brother-in-law of the bride; Trey Moser of Winston-Salem; and Andy Felton, Frank Moser, Nash Redwine, Jubal Stagner and William Wofford of Raleigh. Jack and Cole Shimer, nephews of the bride, served as ring bearers.
The bride is a graduate of East Carolina University and earned her Master’s in Education at North Carolina State University. She teaches special education in the Wake County Public School System.
The groom is a graduate of North Carolina State University. He is the co-owner of Neuwave Systems in Raleigh.
After a honeymoon trip to Anguilla, the couple will reside in Raleigh.
