She is the granddaughter of Mrs. Norma Pittman Parker of Charleston, South Carolina, the late Mr. Benjamin Franklin Parker, junior of Rocky Mount and the late Mr. and Mrs. Robert Oliver Barton of Buffalo, New York. The groom, known as Tripp, is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Donald Edward Deichmann, junior of New Bern. He is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. George Thomas Burnette, junior, the late Mr. Donald Edward Deichmann and the late Mr. and Mrs. Howard Land Speer, all of New Bern.The bride was given in marriage by her father.
