The parents of the bride hosted a reception following the ceremony at Market Hall. The parents of the groom hosted the rehearsal dinner at Bloomsbury Bistro the evening before the wedding. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Marvin Thompson II of Raleigh. She is the granddaughter of Mrs. Christine Joyner and the late Mr. Thelbert Lee Joyner of Cary, and the late Mr. and Mrs. Hal Alexander Thompson of Raleigh. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Wesley Talton Jr. and the late Mrs. Mary Katherine Fulton Talton of Raleigh. He is the grandson of Mrs. Roberta Carter of Cary, Mr. and Mrs. William Carter of Mebane, the late Mr. and Mrs. James Hall Fulton of Danville, VA, and the late Mr. and Mrs. Fred Wesley Talton Sr. of Raleigh. The bride was escorted by her father. Katy Anne Kirk, of Phoenix, AZ, served as Maid of Honor. Bridesmaids were Kathryn Christmas Bagwell of Raleigh, Cathleen Thore Jones of Pinehurst, and Lauren Davis Gordon of Greensboro. Greeters were Kathryn Quilter Glodowski of Charlotte, and Megan Piner Powell of Asheville. The bride's cousin, Sydney Grace Thompson, served as flower girl. Scripture was read by the groom's sister, Alexis Nicolle Owens, and the bride's friend, Gwennaëlle Colette Mennear. The best man was Fred Wesley Talton Jr., father of the groom. Groomsmen were Evan Zwick Danals of Atlanta, GA, Joseph Andrew Joyner of Raleigh, and Walter Clifton Odell IV of Asheville. Paul Michael Thompson of Boston, MA, brother of the bride, served as an usher. Davis Roland Gordon served as ring bearer. The bride is a graduate of Appalachian State University and is employed by Red Hat. The groom is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and is employed by Duke University Hospital. After a honeymoon trip to Hawaii, the couple will reside in Raleigh.
