Asheville author Robert Beatty will be in Durham Friday to answer questions about “Serafina and the Twisted Staff” (Disney-Hyperion), the sequel to “Serafina and the Black Cloak.” The mystery-thriller continues the adventures of an unusual girl who lives hidden away in the basement of Biltmore Estate. Beatty will be at Barnes & Noble at Streets of Southpoint from 6 to 9 p.m. The event will include free food and drink, a book signing and Serafina giveaways.
