What better way to spend Halloween night than seeing a movie called "I Wake Up Screaming"? The Bruce Humberstone-directed 1941 crime thriller screens Friday night as part of the N.C. Museum of Art's 2014 Fall Film Series, "Mad, Bad and Dangerous to Know: The Unreliable Men of Film Noir." Originally titled "Hot Spot," the movie stars Victor Mature as a New York promoter accused of murdering a model/actress (Carole Landis) he represented. Mature hides out with the dead woman's sister (Betty Grable) while a creepy, crazed police detective (Laird Cregar) closes in. It starts at 8 at the Museum Auditorium. Tickets are $7 ($5 for students and NCMA members). Details: 919-715-5923 or ncartmuseum.org.
