UNC-Chapel Hill’s Southern Folklife Collection celebrates its 25th anniversary Saturday with a concert at UNC’s Memorial Hall. The concert features UNC alumna Tift Merritt and Country Music Hall of Fame member Merle Haggard. Housed in the university’s Wilson Library, the Southern Folklife Collection is among the foremost archives dedicated to the expressive culture of the American South. The SFC officially opened during the Sounds of the South Conference held at the university in 1989. Saturday’s concert takes place at 8 p.m. and tickets range in price from $69-$109.
