The great and wonderful Suzy Bogguss, whose February show was cancelled due to icy weather, will perform Thursday at Local 506 in Chapel Hill. A protégé and friend of the late Chet Atkins, Bogguss’ current CD, “Lucky,” presents her interpretations of a dozen Merle Haggard gems. Bogguss made her debut in 1989 with the Haggard composition, “Somewhere Between,” and followed with such memorable hits as “Someday Soon,” “Outbound Plane” and “Letting Go.” The Local 506 show will offer a rare opportunity to get up close and personal to one of Nashville’s most talented and authentic stars.
