So this past Sunday afternoon, Deep South the Bar had a lyric-painting get-together. Management invited people to come in and decorate the walls by painting song lyrics, which has been the downtown Raleigh nightspot’s dominant interior design theme since it opened in 2007.
I did a story about it, which is online here and on paper in the Life, Etc. section of Tuesday’s paper. In the interests of full disclosure, I should note that I, too, contributed a song lyric to the wall at Deep South; up near the stage, just above the front-most booth. And what did I choose for a lyric? Me being me, what else?
