In terms of sheer novelty, the Prettiots have all sorts of quirky appeal. They’re a female ukulele-bass-drums trio from New York with a few things about jerky guys they’d like to get off their chest – and they do so with humor and aplomb. But what elevates them above the level of cutesy schtick is a well-developed pop sense that is charming without relying on gimmickry. Catch the Prettiots up their way up Thursday at Slim’s in Raleigh, on a bill with Emilyn Brodsky and Tall Tall Trees. It starts at 9 p.m. and cover is just $5. Details at slimsraleigh.com.
