What to Watch on Monday: ‘Captivated’ doc looks at Pamela Smart trial

Captivated: The Trials of Pamela Smart (9pm, HBO) - This documentary, which screened at the Full Frame Documentary Film Festival in Durham this spring, looks at the case of Pamela Smart, a New Hampshire woman who was convicted in 1991 for conspiring with her teen lover to kill her husband. The film examines the media’s coverage of the trial and features an interview with Smart, who was sentenced to life in jail without possibility of parole, as well as prosecutors, defense attorneys, reporters and one of her freed co-conspirators.

Dallas (9pm, TNT) - As the series resumes to finish up Season 3, the Ewing family seek answers about the fire at Southfork Ranch. Meanwhile, John Ross an Emma deal with their role in Pamela’s overdose, and family relationships are changed forever.

Hotel Hell (9pm, Fox) - Gordon Ramsay visits a historic hotel in Pipestone, Minn., which is struggling due to sibling rivalry between its two owners.

Doctor Who: The Ultimate Time Lord (10pm, BBC America) - Peter Davison explores what makes the ultimate Time Lord and what will make the 12th Doctor unique. Also, interviews with cast and crew. The eighth series debuts Saturday.

Mistresses (10pm, ABC) - April deals with disloyalty in her life, while Joss shares a surprising revelation and Karen receives a tempting offer from Jacob.
