Cristela (8:30pm, ABC) - This new sitcom stars Mexican stand-up comedian Cristela Alonzo in a show based loosely on her own experiences – and she’s really funny in it. Alonzo plays a woman in her mid-20s living at home and pursuing an unpaid internship at a law firm while attending law school. The office scenes are funnier than the home stuff, to me, but this show probably wasn’t made with me in mind. Read the full review of “Cristela” here.
Live from Lincoln Center (9pm, UNC-TV) - A production of Douglas Carter Beane’s “The Nance,” starring Nathan Lane as a burlesque performer in 1930s-era New York who appears on stage as a campy stereotype of a gay man, while off stage, navigating the city’s secretive, dangerous gay world.
Animal (9pm, Chiller) - This original movie from Chiller is about a group of close-knit friends who find themselves stranded in unfamiliar territory on vacation, pursued by a menacing predator. Holed up in an isolated cabin, tensions mount as long-buried secrets are revealed, and as the body count rises, the group must put their differences aside and fight for survival.
Hawaii Five-0 (9pm, CBS) - Three young women rob a tour bus, but things go horribly wrong when a man is killed and the women unknowingly stalk something of great value that puts their lives in danger.
The Knick (10pm, Cinemax) - Robertson must come up with hush money to cover up a late night crime at the Knick, while a desperate Thackery looks to Lucy to obtain his drugs.
2014 NCLR Alma Awards (10pm, MSNBC) - Coverage of the 2014 NCLR Alma Awards, which honor the contributions of Latinos in the entertainment industry.
Z Nation (10pm, Syfy) - The survivors are in Warren’s hometown of Central Illinois looking for her long-missing husband, and trying to survive a zombie tornado. Wait. Did they say “zombie tornado”?
