The Affair (10pm, Showtime) - This compelling new drama stars Dominic West, Maura Tierney, Joshua Jackson and Ruth Wilson. It tells the story of an affair involving married characters played by West and Wilson, but episodes are divided into two halves, which will recount essentially the same set of events from the perspectives of each. Adding to the drama – both stories are being told to a police detective. Why? Who knows. It’s gorgeously acted and filmed, and that touch of mystery makes it all the more irresistible.
