Frontline: Being Mortal (10 p.m ., UNC-TV) – “Frontline” explores why it’s so hard for doctors to talk openly and honestly with their patients about dying, and what the consequences can be when those conversations don’t happen. The documentary, which took three years to make, is based on a book by Atul Gawande. It includes intimate stories of patients, their families and their doctors.
