What to Watch on Monday: ‘American Experience: JFK’ begins with Kennedy’s early years

American Experience: JFK (9pm, UNC-TV) - A two-part profile of John F. Kennedy begins with his early years, detailing the health challenges he faced, his heroism after his PT boat was hit by an enemy destroyer in World War II and his first run for Congress. Tonight’s segment also includes the 1960s presidential race, which featured the first televised presidential debates. Among those sharing insights: his sister Jean Kennedy Smith and niece Kathleen Kennedy Townsend; presidential biographers Robert A. Caro and Robert Dallek; and historian David Nasaw. Part two airs Tuesday night at 9.

Sleepy Hollow (9pm, Fox) - Abbie gets a surprise visit from Andy, and hidden clues are sought by Ichabod and Abbie to thwart evil in Sleepy Hollow.

Beauty and the Beast (9pm, CW) - Cat confronts her father while Vincent rescues Tori.

Mom (9:30pm, CBS) - A nerve-rattled Christy anticipates going on a romantic weekend getaway with Adam (Justin Long). Elsewhere, Gabriel’s wife believes he’s cheating so she reaches out to Christy for help.

The Blacklist (10pm, NBC) - A plot to destroy the U.S. financial system is uncovered by Liz. Meanwhile, Tom helps Liz when a family member becomes ill.
