What to Watch on Thursday: Carrie Underwood in ‘The Sound of Music Live!’

NBC presents “The Sound of Music Live!” -- a live three-hour adaptation of the Rodgers and Hammerstein musical starring Carrie Underwood in the role made famous by Julie Andrews.

The Sound of Music Live! (8pm, NBC) - This three-hour adaptation of the Rodgers and Hammerstein musical about a young postulant who falls in love with a widowed sea captain while serving as governess to his seven children in pre-World War II Austria will be performed and broadcast live. Carrie Underwood stars in the role made famous by Julie Andrews.

Grey's Anatomy (9pm, ABC) - Matthew and Jackson join forces after they see a devastating accident, while Callie and Arizona put effort into a reconciliation.

Glee (9pm, Fox) - The glee kids audition for roles in a living Nativity scene. Also, Rachel, Kurt and Santana score jobs working for Santa in a New York mall.

A Chef's Life (9:30pm, UNC-TV) - In the Season 1 finale, Kinston chef Vivian Howard visits Broad Slab Distillery in Benson to sample and discuss "white lightning." Her restaurant's mixologist also works moonshine into several new drinks, as the restaurant staff faces the holiday party season. Later, they cap the season with a party at Ben and Vivian's new house.

Scandal (10pm, ABC) - Team loyalties are tested as Olivia's crew uncovers a truth. Elsewhere, Cyrus tries to manage his own crisis with James, which may have gotten out of hand. And of course, we better be finding out the story with Olivia's mother.

Elementary (10pm, CBS) - Holmes is forced to testify under oath in an official police inquiry when an investigation goes horribly wrong, but his cooperation jeopardizes his and Watson's future with the NYPD.
