The Sound of Music (8pm, ABC) - Not the live Carrie Underwood version, the 1965 classic starring Julie Andrews as a young postulate who works as a governess for the large Von Trapp family, led by Christopher Plummer.
Disney’s A Christmas Carol (8pm, CW) - This adaptation of Charles Dickens’ holiday classic features Jim Carrey in the role of Ebenezer Scrooge, as well as the ghosts of Christmas past, present and future.
James Gandolfiini: Tribute to a Friend (8:30pm, HBO) - Friends and colleagues recall Emmy winner James Gandolfini in a tribute that features clips of the late actor’s work.
Back to the Beginning with Christiane Amanpour (9pm, CNN) - Christiane Amanpour explores Biblical stories and places in the Middle East to investigate the origins of many of the world’s religions. Part 1, which aired previously, repeats at 7 p.m.
Treme (9pm, HBO) - L.P. Everett returns to New Orleans for more investigative work, but an unlikely welcoming party rolls out the red carpet for him. Meanwhile, Albert insists that Delmond carry on a family tradition after he’s gone, and Antoine pulls an all-nighter trying to get back in the swing of things.
