What to Watch on Monday: New Year’s Eve fun with Snoopy and the gang

“Happy New Year, Charlie Brown,” “Rudolph’s Shiny New Year” and a CNN special honoring extraordinary people top tonight’s TV listings.

Happy New Year, Charlie Brown (8pm, ABC) - From 1986, Charlie Brown rings in the new year at a party with Tolstoy’s “War and Peace” and ends up missing the evening’s surprise.

Rudolph’s Shiny New Year (9pm, ABC) - A 1976 cartoon narrated by Red Skelton and voiced by Frank Gorshin and Morey Amsterdam about the beloved reindeer on a mission for Santa.

Major Crimes (9pm, TNT) - A bomb explodes at a used-car sale, resulting in a fatality. Meanwhile, a Special Investigation Section supervisor ( Malcolm-Jamal Warner) hunts for the person who’s threatening Sharon and Rusty.

CNN Report: Extraordinary People (9pm, CNN) - Anderson Cooper and Robin Meade reflect on extraordinary heroic acts in 2013, including a teaching assistant from Oklahoma who risked her life during a tornado and a Costa Rican immigrant who saved a life during the Boston Marathon bombing.
