What to Watch on Thursday: ‘Community’ returns with Dan Harmon in charge

Community (8pm, NBC) - The beleaguered NBC sitcom returns, once again with creator Dan Harmon (also beleaguered) at the helm. In Season 5's first episode, Jeff returns to Greendale to collect evidence for a lawsuit, but the Dean organizes a reunion for the study group. In a second episode at 8:30, Jeff becomes a teacher at Greendale, and Professor Hickey ( Jonathan Banks) gives him advice for handling rowdy students.

The Taste (8pm, ABC) - In the Season 2 premiere, cooks audition for 16 spots that will be decided upon by four celebrity chefs.

The Crazy Ones (9pm, CBS) - Sydney becomes a video game addict after Simon's mixup has her working on a game account.

Parenthood (10pm, NBC) - Sarah learns more about Carl when the two attend a fundraiser together. Also, Zeek makes a new friend in Camille's absence and Max freaks out when Hank has to break a promise.

The Assets (10pm, ABC) - The first of an eight-part miniseries about CIA officers trying to ferret out a mole in the ranks in the 1980s to save the lives of Soviet agents spying for the U.S. Based on true events.

Elementary (10pm, CBS) - Holmes and Watson face their one-time adversary Moriarty when she is brought in as a consultant on a kidnapping case.
