Murder in the First (10pm, TNT) - In this new crime drama from TNT, two San Francisco detectives ( Taye Diggs and Kathleen Robertson) spend a whole season investigating the murder of a junkie in a case that may be tied to a notable (and thoroughly despicable) Silicon Valley CEO.

Also on tonight . . .

Major Crimes (9pm, TNT) - “Major Crimes” starts its third season with a particularly upsetting episode about the search for a missing father and his two young children.

Remembering The Artist Robert De Niro, Sr. (9pm, HBO) - HBO presents a profile of painter Robert De Niro Sr. (he has a famous son), whose art was shown alongside Jackson Pollock and Mark Rothko in 1940s New York City. The documentary examines his life’s work and features readings from his letters and journals by his actor offspring.

Hillary Clinton: Public and Private (9pm, ABC) - Diane Sawyer gets a one-on-one interview with Hillary Clinton, who has a new book out.

Longmire (10pm, A&E) - Walt investigates the murder of a Russian adoptee, and Henry faces trouble in jail.
