Raleigh police have arrested a man they say is responsible for two bank robberies that occurred three days apart.
Tommy Aggie Covington, 41, was arrested today and charged with two counts of armed robbery in connection with the July 18 robbery of the Mechanics and Farmers Bank at 13 East Hargett St. in downtown Raleigh and the July 22 robbery of the First Citizens Bank at 2001 Fairview Road.
Covington is also charged with one count of possession of a firearm by a felon, one count of possession of stolen goods, one count of conspiracy to commit armed robbery and one count of possession of cocaine.
