In Cary, the Ace Town & Country Hardware store is moving from its home of 30 years to take over the long-vacated Fresh Market spot at Saltbox Village.
The move will happen slowly in January, store manager Eric Moore said, with employees transferring the stock of the existing store to the new one.
Ace is leaving the spot it has occupied for 30 years at 970 Kildaire Farm Road because it isn't big enough, Moore said.
With plans for the store to become a full Benjamin Moore paint dealer next year, there just isn't enough room.
The move is welcomed by tenants of Saltbox Village, which is also on Kildaire Farm Road, a few blocks away from Ace's store now.
The main anchor spot in that center has been vacant for two years now; Fresh Market left for a new spot in October 2006.
