Neuse Christian Academy 73, Trinity Academy 61:  Last season Neuse Christian Academy won its third straight basketball state championship in the North Carolina Christian School Association. It was the Lions' fourth title in five years. Six players off last year's team are playing college ball this year, including Terry Henderson, who is starting as a freshman at West Virginia University.

NCHSAA Class 1A/2A Swimming:  CARY Raleigh Charter’s girls did just about everything right Saturday which left a lot of teams battling for second place in the N.C. High School Athletic Association Class 1A/2A Swimming and Diving state championships. The Phoenix won their third straight state title with a whopping 376 points to second-place Carrboro (161), followed by Lincoln Charter (154), and Northwood and Lake Norman, both with 148 points.
