Estelle Smith Stephens, 93, of 60 Liles-Dean Rd., died Sunday. A native of Wake County she was the daughter of Alfred Mack Smith and Keller Bertha Austin Smith. She was preceded in death by her husband, Mills Stephens and brothers, Alton, Arthur, Kenneth, Roger and Howard Smith.
Mrs. Stephens worked 10 years as a Hairstylist in Raleigh. Estelle was an active member of Wendell Baptist Church and a member of the WMU and Joy Group as long as her health permitted. Mrs. Stephens enjoyed working with flowers in her yard and in their vegetable garden. Estelle was a loving wife, mother, sister and grandmother. Many of her friends and family described her as a virtuous woman.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday at Wendell Baptist Church with burial to follow in Greenmount Cemetery.
She is survived by her daughters, Glenda, Jane and Lisa; grandson, Jeremy Jones all of Wendell; brothers, Waylon Smith and wife Patsy of Raleigh, Dwight Smith and wife Doris of Danville, VA and sister, Sarah Frances Massey of Raleigh. A special thanks to her caregivers.

The family will receive friends 12:30 – 1:45 p.m. Thrusday prior to the service in the Church Fellowship Hall and other times at the home.
