Frederick “Freddie” Earl Medlin, 64, of Zebulon, died Tuesday morning surrounded by his family. Freddie was preceded in death by his father, Hillard Earl Medlin. Freddie was a very talented person and loved to entertain people with his music, especially country, bluegrass and gospel. He was a man with a huge heart and was always there for anyone who needed him. Loved to grill and cookout for family and friends and was a fan of the Chicago Cubs and Dallas Cowboys. He was an outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing.
A memorial service will be held 2:00 p.m. Friday at Strickland Funeral Home Chapel, 103 W. Franklin St., Louisburg, NC.
He is survived by his mother; Alma Gray Medlin of Zebulon; daughters, Shelly Medlin Ragsdale (Mitch) of N. Myrtle Beach, SC and Michele Griffin (Brad) of Wendell; son, Craig Griffin (Kelly) of Zebulon; grandsons, Hunter Ragsdale and Griffin Gullie; several aunts, uncles and cousins.
In lieu of flowers the family suggest memorials be made to Transitions LifeCare Hospice, 250 Hospice Circle, Raleigh, NC 27607.
