Francis Everett "Bo" Sargent, 62, caring father of two, passed away unexpectedly Thursday, August 28th, 2014 at his residence in Orlando, Florida. Born October 7th, 1951 to Everett and Doris Sargent in Oneonta, New York, Bo was a resident of the Cary area for over thirty years before recently retiring to Florida.
After graduating from the University of Florida, Bo worked most of his career as an electrical engineer for Nortel in the Research Triangle area, and in semi-retirement, as a lifeguard at the Cary YMCA for ten years. His friends and family will remember that Bo lived his faith daily and shared it with much joy and confidence. Bo was an accomplished golfer, runner, swimmer, and cyclist. He loved golf tournaments and college sports, and in particular he attended University of Florida and Duke University football games at every opportunity.
Bo is survived by his sons Phillip Sargent and Travis Queen, and grandson Jackson Queen. He was pre-deceased by his parents and a sister, Laura Sargent of Oneonta, NY. His long time close friends, Tim and Karol LaCroix, have organized a memorial service at Crossroads Fellowship of Raleigh (2721 E Millbrook Rd) on Tuesday, September 23, 2014 at 11:30am. Memorial gifts may be sent to the Cary Family YMCA, 101 YMCA Drive, Cary, NC 27513.
