Gregory “Greg” Bryant Hinnant, age 47, died early Friday, September 26, 2014 in Beaufort County. Born September 27, 1966 in Wilson County, he was a son of B.H. and Onnalee McElhaney Hinnant of Kenly. He was preceded in death by his sister, Sandra Leigh Hinnant; father-in-law, Ashworth Pearce; paternal grandparents, Robert and Rachel Hinnant; and maternal grandmother, Eleanor McElhaney. Greg was a graduate of North Johnston High School and NC State University, receiving a Bachelor of Science Degree in Chemical Engineering. He was a Licensed Professional Engineer with the State of North Carolina. Following the birth of his son, Robert, he began working with Beulah Enterprises, Inc., the family business. He was a member of Bizzell Grove Pentecostal Holiness Church, Bizzell Grove Men’s Fellowship and currently the Treasurer of the North Johnston Panther Club.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Monday night at Parrish Funeral Home in Selma. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 30, 2014 in Bizzell Grove Pentecostal Holiness Church with Rev. Phillip Bland officiating. Burial will follow in Bizzell Grove Memorial Gardens.
Surviving in addition to his parents are his wife, Donna Pearce Hinnant; sons, Robert Ashworth Hinnant, and Bryant Andrew Hinnant; daughter, Eleanor Leigh Hinnant, all of Kenly; brother, J.J. Hinnant and wife Laurie and children, Jonathan and Alison all of Raleigh; mother-in-law, Sandra Bizzell Pearce of Selma; sisters-in-law, Darlene Peedin and husband Terry and children, Shelley and Brandon all of Princeton and Deanna Pearce Jernigan of Selma; brother–in-law, Gary Pearce and wife Christy and children, Alex, Chelsea and Matthew all of Selma .
