Virginia Painter Pearce, born June 25, 1928, passed away peacefully on Wednesday October 8, 2014 after a 10 year battle with cancer. Virginia, lovingly known as Granny Gin, was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother. She selflessly cared for her husband, Ralph Haywood Pearce throughout his long illness.
Virginia leaves behind her loving son, Gary Lynn Pearce (wife Grae); grandsons, Bryan and Brenden Pearce; sisters, Kathryn Vaughan, Doris Driver and Faye Martin; brother-in-law, Everette Peace; sisters-in-law, Lillian Pearce, Elsie Shearon, Mary Lee and numerous nieces and nephews, special friends, Carlyle and Alma Woodlief, Lynn and Bob Meyer.
Virginia was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Pearce, mother, Nannie Arnold Painter, father, Charlie Painter, brothers, Charles Painter, Thomp Painter, Wyatt Painter, sisters, Fannie Mae Jeffreys, Barbara Carroll, Lavata Bussey and special grandson, Lane Meyer.
Funeral service will be held 2 o’clock Saturday afternoon October 11, 2014 in the Rolesville Baptist Church with Dr. Randy Bridges officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Flowers will be appreciated however the family requests that you support the Lane Meyer memorial scholarship fund c/o North Carolina Community Foundation 4601 Six Forks Rd.
