Today I lost my best friend and the love of my life. The world lost a real sweetheart. Glenda fought one helluva good fight, but she finally passed away at Duke Medical Center early Friday Morning. She was a double lung transplant survivor and an inspiration to many.
Glenda was born in Indianapolis, Indiana daughter of the late Doris and Robert Brown. She graduated from Northeast High School class of “72” where she was a cheerleader in the pep squad.
She was very proud of Glenda’s Cleaning Service. She had an excellent business mind and treated clients and employees like family.
A funeral service honoring her life will be held 11 o’clock Tuesday morning October 28, 2014 in the Chapel of Bright Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Pine Forest Memorial Gardens.
Never miss a local story.
Glenda is survived by her husband; Pat and her dogs; Todd and Tanner, sons; Walt and his wife Michelle of Youngsville, Ray Michael and his wife Ashley of Bergersville, Indiana, sisters; Evie and her husband Mike of Cypress, Texas and Barbara of Indianapolis, grandchildren; Josh, Dustin, Ray, Hadley and Hudson, several in-laws, half brothers and half sisters. She was preceded in death by a son; Jimmy that caused her greatest pain.
The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses at Duke Medical Center for all the care they gave to Glenda during this difficult time.
Flowers are accepted or memorial contributions may be made to the SPCA 200 Pet Finder Lane Raleigh, NC 27603.
