Bruce W. Koebler, 66, of Cary passed away Saturday, October 25, 2014 at Transitions LifeCare in Raleigh.
He was born December 3, 1947 in Long Island, NY a son of Hank and Alvina Stegemann Koebler. He married Renate Stech.
Surviving are the love of his life who he met in a NY traffic jam in 1984, Renate Stech; her children, Ryan and Lisa; a granddaughter, Jesse; three sisters, Louise Gilchrist, Lucille Jordan, and Susan Malarsky; one brother, Hank Koebler; and several other extended family and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents, and his beloved dog, Brittany.
Bruce was a helpful neighbor, a wonderful father to Renate’s children, a good friend who enjoyed good food and the outdoors. He had a great sense of humor. Bruce retired from IBM.
He was a member of the Emergency Response Team, and the Neighborhood Homeowners Association.
He was a member of the Amran Shrine Temple, and Past Master of the Cary Masonic Lodge 198. Even after his illness he still was a good coach to young Masons.
A memorial service with masonic rites will be at 11 a.m. Friday, October 31, 2014 at Brown-Wynne Funeral Home in Cary.
