The Reverend Millard Randall Baker died at Pruitt Health Care on Tuesday October 28, 2014 after battling with Alzheimer’s disease for 4 years. He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years Freda Kaylor Baker, three daughters Katherine Evans, Lesa Powell and Betsy Griffin. He is also survived by three granddaughters, Elizabeth Currin , Ashley Summey and Julia Griffin, two great grandchildren Charlotte and Baker Currin and his brother, Lowell Baker. He was predeceased by his parents Millard F. and Roselee Baker and his brother Jack Baker.
Reverend Baker was a loving husband and father who always put his family above his own needs. He was a proud Navy veteran of WWII. He loved to recount stories from his time in the Pacific. He was a long-time member of the North Carolina Conference of The United Methodist Church. He served numerous churches within the conference and was The District Superintendent of the Elizabeth City district. He lived his life as an example of Christian love and understanding. He will be sorely missed by each member of his family as well as the church members whose lives he touched.

A memorial service will be held at Queen Street United Methodist Church in Kinston on Wednesday November 5, 2014 at 11am.
