Reverend Glenn Bates Everett age 72, of Havelock, died on Wednesday, October 29th at Carolina East Medical Center in New Bern after a short battle with cancer with his wife Pat by his side.
Reverend Everett served his calling as a minister of the gospel for 38 years in the United Methodist Church serving several churches across Eastern North Carolina. The youth loved their “Rev. Ev”, and his great sense of humor. He always had words of encouragement to all around him.
He was a 1960 Havelock High School Graduate, attended Louisburg College, and Graduated in 1980 with a double major in History and Religion from NC Wesleyan College. He earned his Master of Divinity from Duke University in 1984.
He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Patricia Everett; one son, Clint and his wife Lisa of Nags Head; three daughters, Yvette Everett of Kill Devil Hills; Sally Norfleet and husband Alvin of Camden; Marianne Everett of Gibsonville; his grandson Wyatt Norfleet of Camden and his sister Janet Baggett of Cary.

A celebration of his life, officiated by Reverend William Boyken and Linda Taylor, Sound District Superintendent of the North Carolina Conference of the United Methodist Church, will be held 2:00 Monday afternoon, November 3rd at the First United Methodist Church, 324 Miller Blvd. Havelock, NC.
A visitation will be held following the service.
