William Roscoe "Bill" Stallings, age 76, passed away on Tuesday, November 4, 2014.
He was born in Selma NC to William R & Leona Stallings and married Wilda Faye Norris from Dunn NC. He was the head plumber at the North Carolina State Fairgrounds for many years and retired from NC Dept. of Administration in 1999.
Mr. Stallings will be remembered as the one who always wanted everyone to do better or be better. Always lending a helping hand and keeping a treat in his pocket for that special” little one” he would encounter.
He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Wilda N Stallings; daughters, Phyllis Stallings of Clayton, Victoria Stallings of Raleigh, Cindy Quinn & husband Jamie of Garner; son, Russell Stallings & wife Penny of Newton NC; grandchildren, Jeff Jordan & wife Kathy of Raleigh, Lesley Madden & husband Scott of Garner, Chris Quinn of Garner, James Quinn of Raleigh, Stephanie Kirby of Hickory, Chris Phillips of Newton, Brandon Stallings of Clayton & Cassie Hargis of Charlotte; great grandchildren, Makenna, Reagan, Ben, Caleb, Riley & Maggie.

Mr. Stallings is also survived by a sister, Rudean Jones of Wilson; brothers, Jimmy Stallings & Steve Stallings of Florida; and many nieces & nephews who loved him dearly.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Harold Stallings of Virginia, Freddie Stallings retired US Army, Danny Stallings of Roanoke Rapids, and Larry Stallings of Smithfield.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Sunday, November 9, 2014 at Shiloh Baptist Church in Garner of which he was a member.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Saturday, November 8, 2104 at McLaurin Funeral Home in Clayton and at other times at the residence.
The family would like to thank the wonderful nurses, doctors and staff at the SECU Hospice House in Smithfield. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to SECU Hospice House.
