Leonard K. Luongo passed peacefully from this life on November 14 in the loving arms of his daughter. At that moment, he saw the 2 most important people in his life; his Lord and his loving wife, Frances, whom he longed to be with again since she was called home on April 19, 2007. The years have been challenging for him since her passing. They were truly devoted to one another, and now they are apart no more celebrating a long anticipated heavenly reunion.
Lenny was born on June 22, 1929 to Bessie and Nicholas Luongo in White Plains, NY. He had a lifelong career in the food service business. He was a wonderful husband, father, and a friend to many over the years.
Lenny is predeceased by Frances; his parents, Nicholas and Bessie Luongo; and sister, Vickie. He is survived by his sister, Marie; daughter and son-in-law, Lynn and Bob Doyle; son and daughter-in-law, Nick and Brigette Luongo; grandchildren, Kaitlin and Meaghan Doyle and Nicholas, Matthew, and Joshua Luongo; and nieces, Mitzi Kratt and Karen Notess.
Friends may visit with the family on Tuesday, November 18 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Mitchell Funeral Home, 7209 Glenwood Avenue. The Holy Mass in honor of Lenny’s life will be Wednesday, November 19, 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, 2817 Poole Road, with final rest at Raleigh Memorial Park.
Never miss a local story.
