Susan Jenkins Albano, 54, of Raleigh, passed away on November 23, 2014. She was born in Greensboro, NC on September 28, 1960 to Mary Jenkins and the late John D. Jenkins.
Susan was an administrative assistant for JAS Forwarding World Wide. A dedicated employee in the shipping industry, she formed many bonds with her co-workers over the years. She was a member of the Edenton Street United Methodist Church and in her spare time you may have found her learning dance moves at Seven with her “Dance with Glen” friends or catching a local musician around town.
Susan was a quiet person, but she is remembered for her selflessness. She was a warm hearted individual who devoted most of her time to the Make-a-Wish Foundation after losing her own daughter, Victoria, to a brain tumor in 2003. Her volunteer work did not stop there. She raised money every year for the Preston Robert Tisch Brain Tumor Center, and also volunteered for the Jimmy V Foundation.
Susan is survived by her mother, Mary Jenkins, of Greensboro; sisters, Martha Owen (Frank), of Charlotte and Nancy Jenkins, of Greensboro. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and a large extended family. Susan was preceded in death by her father, John Jenkins, her sister Marilyn Cooley and daughter, Victoria Albano.
Never miss a local story.
