Theodore “Ted” Franklin Ours, 77, passed away peacefully at his home Thursday, November 27, 2014 after many months of declining health. Ted was born in Austin, PA on July 1, 1937 to the late Clyde Ours and Mary Katherine Norek Ours. He served his country in the US Army. On October 12, 1974 he married the love of his life Carol. He retired as a specialist in marketing advertising, working at various radio stations and his last employment was with Liturgical Publications. Ted, as long as his health permitted was very involved with activities at St. Eugene’s Catholic Church and Wendell Civic Clubs.
A mass to celebrate Ted’s life will be held Tuesday, December 2, 2014 at 11:00 am at St. Eugene’s Catholic Church, 608 Lions Club Road, Wendell, 27591 with Rev. Msgr. Michael P. Shugrue presiding. A reception will be held after the mass in the church parish hall. Everyone is invited to attend to share food, fellowship and memories.
Surviving, loving and devoted wife, Carol Jenke Ours; uncle, John Norek of Coudersport, PA; aunts: Agnes Martin of Coudersport, PA, Jean Streich of Emporium, PA; numerous cousins and close friends; his devoted little companion “Peyton”.
Ted and Carol have requested that flowers be omitted and contributions be made to Transitions LifeCare, 250 Hospice Circle, Raleigh, NC 27607 for the excellent care given during his time of sickness.
