William “Billy” Talvis Sherron, Jr., 88, passed away Sunday, November 30, 2014. Billy was born April 2, 1926 in Wake County to the late William Talvis Sherron, Sr. and Eva Young Sherron. He served his country in the US Navy during WWII and returned home to be a lifelong farmer. Billy was a member of the Wendell Rotary Club and Hephzibah Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon.
He is survived by his son: William Talvis “Tal” Sherron, III and wife Kim of Zebulon; sisters: Doris S. Partin and husband Al of Cary, Melba S. Baker of Cary, and Katherine S. Hester and husband Eugene of Wendell; brother: Fred Sherron and wife Alease of Richmond, VA; sister-in-law: Kay Liles of Knightdale; brother-in-law: Wallace Liles and wife Peggy of Lagrange, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Etta Vee Liles Sherron and brother, Bobby Sherron.
Funeral service will be held at 11:00 am, Wednesday, December 3, 2014 at Hephzibah Baptist Church, 1794 Wendell Blvd., Wendell. Burial will follow at Gethsemane Memorial Gardens, Zebulon. The family will receive relatives and friends from 6:00 to 8:00 pm, Tuesday, December 2, 2014 at L. Harold Poole Funeral Service, 944 Old Knight Road, Knightdale and other times at the home of Tal and Kim Sherron, 2508 Hwy. 97 West, Zebulon.
