Seba Darden Pendergrass Crumpler, passed away Friday, December 5, 2014.
The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Monday, December 8, 2014, at First Baptist Church of Madison with Rev. Charles McGathy and Rev. Dr. Larry Bennett officiating. Interment will follow in Woodland Cemetery.
Mrs. Crumpler was born September 7, 1927, in Sanford, NC, to the late Janie and C.A. Pendergrass. She was born and raised as a simple farm girl, where she developed a tremendous work ethic which she carried with her until the day she died. Seba graduated from Sanford High School as Valedictorian of her class and then meet married Tommy Crumpler, an American War hero, and moved to Madison, NC. They made a perfect team. Together they shared a love of family, friends, work, church, and country.
They raised two sons, Terry and Randy, who became the center of their lives. Seba loved attending and watching any type of sporting event, especially those involving her sons or grandchildren.

Seba owned an operated VH Idol Insurance Agency for over fifty years. She was ahead of her time as a female business executive, developing a successful business, never considering retirement. She loved her customers, many of whom became close friends, and her coworkers, who became like family
She was a longtime member of First Baptist Church of Madison where she actively served in many roles including most recently that of Trustee.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by husband, Thomas Benjamin Crumpler and her brother, Kelson Pendergrass.
Survivors include two sons, Terry Crumpler and wife, Patty, of Winston-Salem and Randy Crumpler and wife, Kathy, of Raleigh. “Bebe” also leaves her beloved four grandchildren, Elizabeth Crumpler and Blake Anderson of Santa Fe, NM, Carolyn Crumpler of Washington, DC, Mary Glenn Crumpler Coleman and husband, Will, of Boydton, VA, and Connor Crumpler of Clemson, SC.
The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m., Sunday, December 7, at Colonial Funeral Home.
